Overview

Mannai Narayanasamy College of Nursing maintains a disciplined and professional academic environment to ensure the overall development of students. The institution follows well-defined rules and regulations that guide student behavior, academic conduct, and campus life.

All students are expected to adhere strictly to these rules to uphold the dignity, safety, and reputation of the institution.

General Discipline

Students are expected to maintain high standards of discipline within the campus, classrooms, hostels, and clinical training areas. Respect towards faculty, staff, patients, and fellow students is mandatory at all times.

Any form of misconduct, indiscipline, or violation of institutional norms will invite strict disciplinary action.

Code of Conduct

Students must demonstrate professional behavior, ethical values, and responsible conduct both inside and outside the campus. They are expected to follow institutional guidelines, maintain decorum, and uphold the values of the nursing profession.

Respect for human dignity, confidentiality of patient information, and adherence to professional ethics are essential.

Anti-Ragging Policy

The institution strictly prohibits ragging in any form and follows government regulations for the prevention and prohibition of ragging. A zero-tolerance policy is enforced, and any student found involved in ragging activities will face severe disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal.

Awareness programs are conducted regularly to educate students about the importance of maintaining a respectful environment.

Attendance Policy

Regular attendance is mandatory for all students. A minimum percentage of attendance, as prescribed by regulatory authorities, must be maintained to appear for university examinations.

Students are expected to attend all classes, practical sessions, and clinical postings without fail. Absenteeism without valid reasons may affect academic progress.

Examination Rules

Students must follow all examination rules and guidelines strictly. They are expected to maintain discipline during internal assessments and university examinations.

Any form of malpractice, including copying or unfair means, will result in strict action as per institutional and university regulations.

Dress Code / Uniform

Students are required to wear the prescribed uniform during classes, clinical postings, and official functions. The uniform reflects professionalism and discipline, especially in clinical settings.

Proper grooming, neat appearance, and adherence to uniform guidelines are mandatory at all times.

Hostel Rules

Students residing in the hostel must follow all hostel regulations related to discipline, timings, cleanliness, and behavior. Respect for fellow residents and maintenance of a peaceful environment are essential.

Mobile Phone & Behaviour Guidelines

The use of mobile phones is restricted during academic hours, classrooms, and clinical postings. Students are expected to avoid any activities that may disturb the academic environment.

Polite behavior, respectful communication, and responsible use of facilities are expected from every student.

Disciplinary Action Policy

The institution reserves the right to take appropriate disciplinary action against students who violate rules and regulations. Actions may include warnings, suspension, or dismissal depending on the severity of the offense.
